📺 Our Partner Polka Mishra went live on CNBC Squawk Box Asia to share her read on the South Korea market right now:
📌 There is value in South Korea outside the two-stock story shows. The market is primarily driven by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, riding the AI and memory wave.
📌 Take those two out, and Korea trades at a forward PE of around 12x, reasonable compared with other markets.
📌 The strength is broadening. Since March, earnings revisions have moved up across financials, materials and industrials, alongside the chipmakers, and the reforms and shareholder value story that first drew investors to Korea is still in play.
The catch is patience. A lot of today’s trading runs on leverage, so the swings will be wild. South Korea is a market for the investor who can live through the volatility rather than chase daily gains.
